Restaurant Dreamland Claypot

Lately my bf is so busy till no time to even had a dinner with me. So, i have to out with my parents during weekends. As usual, if im around, then my bro would ask me to treat him for meal...But this time, my salary havent out, haha..so no choice, is his turn to buy me the meal...together with my parents...Anyhow, the place quite "ulu" too..and price is not expensive too..Good for him..

So, this time, we are heading to Semenyih, a place where my bro used to have dinner with some of his friends. It look like those shoplots beside a main road / highway....The name of the restaurant is very unique....Cantonese translation - " Tong Po Tong Lo" .... Dreamland Claypot Restaurant...haha...

So whats so special about this place?? Erm, i guess most of them would know ..It is sure related to claypot...Yes...most of the dish is served on the claypot. One of the reason some people use claypot is to maintain the warmness of the dish...But not all dish is put into the claypot la...example fish / vegetable...

So lets see what my bro had ordered for us...most of the dish is meat....haha...his favourite...

Dark Sauce Pork (RM12) - cant really remember the name...it is something like stir fry of pork with dark sauce in a claypot with some dried shrimps , onions ....it is really flavouring that you wish to have more...eventhough there is no gravy in this dish...

Stir fry "Shu Mui" (RM8) - a plain and simple vegetable with just stirred with sliced garlic...

Pork + pumpkin (RM12) - Pork which has been cooked together with pumpkin cut into cube to make the dish more sweeter and this is the 1st time i tried this...The meat is tender and pumpkin is soft just like eating sweet potatoes...

Seafood Taufu (RM8) - white taufu cut into thin slice and cooked with squids, mushroom etc...The gravy is slightly thick and is good to spread on to the rice...a nice and not so fattening dish....

Hot Pepper Soup (RM16) - a nice hot and spicy meat soup...with lots of pepper inside...It is delicious when eaten during raining seasons...there are thin slice of pork, pig intestines and pork stomach etc...fyi, i just drink the soup with pork meat...else i dont touch..because i never like to eat pig intestines / stomach...

Anyway, the meals cost about RM65 (with 5rice & a pot of tea)....Should be quite worthy compare if you have it in KL...

MG's Cafe

Last weekend, I have dropped by my previous company and dated my ex-colleague for a lunch...As usual, due to my ex-colleague is a vegetarian...so we sure follow her...For me, I dont mind actually....to be honest , I quite enjoy too...because i can taste new food ..haha..You may say Im "wai sek"...

So this time, she will be bringing all of us(total 4 persons) to MG's Cafe at Desa Sri Hartamas...MG's is actually a combination of vegetarian cafe and bakery house. Once you enter the cafe, you see the front will have lots of cakes and bread being display and sell. Im quite interested with their cake there and wish to try all of them...But some how, my tummy is not big for it..hehe..I think they do

Main counter...cashier is there too...

many flavour of cakes being display in the glass fridge....

Dragon Fruit juice (this is very yummy and you feel it is fresh and original) & a bottle of Aloe Vera juice

Green Tea Mocha - the overall the taste is not sweet at all...the green color(bottom) is the green tea....need to mixed it well before drink it...it is refreshing and healthy too..

Combo Sushi Platter (RM6.90) - nice vegetarian sushi...there are ingrediants like long bean, carrots, eggs slice and vegetarian tuna...i guess...haha

our signature dish (a must order when me and my ex-colleague out to have vegetarian, lol) - French Fries (RM4.90)

Rendang Donburi (RM7.90) - the portion is not big. It just look like a normal meat rendang but this is vegetarian style...with potatoes cube...nice try...

Vege Beef Brisket Noodle Soup (RM8.50) - XY and Grace say is nice..because both order the same...because this dish only available during Fri and weekends only, if not mistaken....

Fried G'ken (RM8.50) - this is so crispy outside ....inside is like vegetarian meat + some mashed yam ....because we taste something like yam inside...

Hawaii Pizza (RM11.90) - a medium size round pizza but divided into 8pcs....which good to be eaten in group...ingrediant is the sliced vegetarian meat and small pineapple cube with on top of melted cheese...quite tasty and full too...haha...

So , for those vegetarian friend...never give up finding good food...Nowaday there are actually many vegetarian outlet being open and some of them did served heathly and modern vegetarian dish..

Hope you all enjoy it...Happy eating!!

Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh

Last Friday, I was out to have dinner with my parents. Actually Friday is consider one of my family day...due to I always not around during weekend..haha..no choice lol...We get to know that nearby our areas have a new outlet for Bak Kut Teh...haha..but their style of serving it slightly different...They are famous for their "String Tied Meat "

We ordered for our tea 1st...a pot of chinese tea (RM5) is always the best thing to have together with a heavy meal like bak kut teh...

Their menu with lots of pictures...many kind of meats (small bone, big bone, etc)...all in a small bowl .....depending on what kind you order...some dish like shark fin / sea cucumber is far more expensive...mostly the menu is stated in mandarin and Hokkien...if not mistaken...

Their butter rice (RM1.20 per bowl) ...very fragrant and soft...

Green Vegetables (RM8.50 per plate)

All the bak kut teh are served in a special bowl with some small fire below...to maintain the heat...

Sui Kut (RM9.50) - means small bone. They are just 2 pcs of meat in this bowl..which not even enough for 4 of us...

Sum Chan Bah (RM9.50) - i think it means 3 layer of fat in the meat...which everyone whould love to eat...

Teng Kia (RM9.50) - layer by layer of pig intestine...not in my stomach list...

Luan Kut(RM9.50) - stands for soft bone where the meat is quite tender.

Overall, the price is quite expensive...where we dont have much choices to choose. Our usual bak kut teh at other place, we just need to order a claypot where there is a mix of the meat, mushroom, etc...but for this, we just can have 1 type of meat in 1 bowl and the portion is quite small too..Not good for a big group as they may tend to order more and more bowl of the same meat and feel lack of choices...

Anyway, is a good thing to try it...at least I know how it taste like...

Curry Fish Head @ Ming Tien Food Court

Im sure some of us would be loving to have their meal at food court....mostly due to there are variety of choices . Or maybe to some of us would love for a quick meal at that moment. So, food court is always the best choice to go with...

I have reached here to have my dinner with my bf. We actually saw a lot of customers is ordering from this stall and we are curious whether is it that so nice. So, the stall is serving curry in claypot whereby you may choose to have it with fish head or maybe other type seafoods.

Due to we still undecided what to have and we are just in front the stall, so we just make our order here. We have order a small pot (RM10) with fish head and asked for 2 plate of white rice. Consider quite a budget meal we have that night...haha...

Our curry in claypot. It looks little creamy when you try to drink the gravy....I saw is a lady who prepare it.....Earlier, her assistant already arrange some vegetable (long beans, brinjals, tau fu pok, lady fingers etc) together with the fist meat into the claypot getting ready. The lady will put some chili paste and some santan to boil together till cook...

The white rice....lol

Overrall, im quite satisfy with the dish...I keep spreading the curry onto my rice to eat together. I eat most of the vegetable and left those fish for my bf to handle it..because i scare of fish bone...

Chef Loong Restaurant

After a tired shopping, food is always the thing which will flash into my mind... I know lar...im "wai sek"..born to be like this...

Once agian, i searching food at SS2, PJ and i found this chinese restaurant..that time, the place is not so crowded with customers and i think is ok to give a try...My bf? sure no comment one...but sometimes may be choosy in food.

Anyhow, lets check out what i have at Chef Loong Restaurant...

Ginger Tea with Glutinuos Rice Ball - very warm after drinking it..not sweet with 2 pcs of "tong yun" with black sesame filling...

"Leung Shui" - the drink which served together with the set meal below...quite refreshing....

"Siew Loong Pau" and their Ramen....dried curry spread on top of the ramen...

Steamed "Cheung Fun"...this is nice...is a fried popiah and wrapped with a layer of "cheung fun".....dipped with the sweet soy sauce..i love this...it make the dish less oily ....

Honey Char Siew Pau - this is just so so...the skin is too thick and filling meat is not much...

Conclusion, the place is still ok for certain foods....and maybe next time i will go mainly for their dim sum..because I saw quite a number of dish can find in the menu that i havent got the chance to try.
