Tiramisu

Tiramisu is an Italian dessert consisting of layers of lady fingers ( or sponge cake) soaked with coffee and liquer . Then it is layered with mascarpone cheese, dairy whipping cream and topped with cocoa powder (dusting)....Tiramisu is simply means "pick me up". A dessert which simply just made for love....

This time, i have tried to make it. I have search for the mascarpone cheese for some time which is one of the ingrediant in making Tiramisu. I found out that it is not easy to get it at the normal shopping mall. At last , i just get it at a bakery shop and it is quite expensive. It cost me RM20++ for 250grm .

Overrall the taste is quite nice. The taste is quite ok even with the first attempt . Still maintain a normal shape but little watery. Maybe due to the lady fingers which dipped quite long on the mixed coffee & little brandy. This is my first time making it. I have distribute some to my bf. Let him be my white mouse. If can go through, then next time i make better for all my friends..
I have to ganbateh more ....

Restaurant Gafan

Even i stay here but yet i can tell you, this is my first time trying this claypot rice...lol...Dont ask me why. But if you all ever stay here, you will know there are a big highway which make us very lazy to walk to the opposite shop lots. But i will pass by there if there is pasar malam which open every Wednesday.

So, what we have?? For sure their speciality is claypot rice lol. I have order the chicken claypot rice with salted fish. The salted fish is just so little. Wish they could give me more. The portion is quite big even for a person so my bf have it so full...

We have ordered a bowl of steamed soup. I think it is called "Wai San Kei Chi" soup in canto. Not sure in english translation. I think it is a kind of herbal soup which is quite nice. Good for health and especially those who dont have time to make one.

Lastly, a plate of vegetables...to make it a full and healthy meal for the day. Eat more vegetables....

Dragon-i Restaurant

Last Friday, i had bring my parent to have dinner at Dragon-i since my bro had went outstation for trip. It has been sometime i have not been there to have meal. My mum wanna eat "la mian". So suddenly i have thought there is a Dragon-i Restaurant in Leisure Mall. This is my 1st time of visit at since the day it opened there at Cheras.

So, we begin to order after we looked into their menu. I have order their speciality which is the Shanghainese Steamed Meat Dumpling(RM9)... Dumpling which is dip little bit with the vineger and eaten together with slices of ginger....quite tasty. For your info, the dumpling is nice to be eat while it is still hot...

Then my dad has ordered for Steamed Rice with Pork Chop and Potato(RM15) ....potatoes?? Sounds funny le..Is truly slices of potatoes on top of the steamed rice with some pork chop. My dad said....the most tasty of this dish is the rice. lol...Soft and tasty when he ate it. The pork chop quite tender and not too hard.

My mum who wanna have "la mian" that time and I have suggest her to have " La mian" with Hokkaido Scallops(RM22). In the photo, I saw the "la mian" look tasty but when it served, it quite different and my mum does not so like the soup. So, quite disappointing too. But at least she can have 3 big scallops...

While for me, i have get myself "La Mian" with pork rib in Sichuan spicy and Sour Soup(RM18). Their "la mian" is actually quite smooth and chewy. But maybe their soup not so suit me and my family. I still feel the soup is not so tasty. Dont seen to be spicy and sour but more like a curry mee to me. And the deep fried pork rib is really hard to chew. If it would be more tender and soft...I think i will love it more.

We have ordered 3 glass of Chinese Tea(RM2/glass) which is refillable and the bill ended up with RM86.25(included tax & service charges) . Titbits(RM2) and wet towel(RM1/pcs) is included in the bills. Quite expensive for a meal for 3 persons. But anyway, spend for family....better than spend on other things...

U-Soya @ Taman Segar

It just a normal weekday and me and my friend just feel like having some dessert rather than a normal "mamak" style drink. So, looking through nearby my areas, i have suggested to have special soya bean @ U-Soya. The cafe is actually located same row with the Wood Saloon.

To be honest, it is really difficult to find a packing space there. We have turn for few times and lastly we ended parking inside Leisure Mall...But still ok, since is weekday, the parking fees is just RM1.

So what we could have there?? For sure all is about soya .....either soya bean milk or soya beancurd aka "Tau Fu Fah". There are many choices of "Tau Fu Fah" available such as red bean, almond, coffee, sunflower seed, peanut, honey etc which is added for topping. For those who prefer the normal "Tau Fu Fah", you may have choices for the syrups too : ginger, brown sugar and white sugar...

The boss is good enough to give us a FOC a small bowl of Shanghai Salted "Ta Fu Fah". This is because we have been thinking too long whether wanna try it or not. Sometimes it is quite hard for us to accept a salted "Tau Fu Fah" when most of the time we are having it sweet...lol...Erm, my comment, dont treat this as "Tau Fu Fah"...make it like a normal tofu you always eat outside for a meal....or maybe something like HK style "Chee Cheung Fun"...for this salted "Tau Fu Fah", they have put some dried shrimps & shallots and some chilies i think...coz when i ate it , it is little spicy....

I have pick "Tau Fu Fah" with sunflower seed(RM3.50). It has been served with brown sugar which is also one of my favourite. Actually, the "Tau Fu Fah" is all same with a different topping...So "Tau Fu Fah" is quite smooth and nice to be eaten while it is hot.

One thing reminder, as you know, their "Tau Fu Fah" actually can be served cold or hot. But, just listen to my experience. If can, just have the "Tau Fu Fah" to be served hot. It will taste fresher to you..My friend had order a cold "Tau Fu Fah" with coffee (as above). Is something like a jelly instead of "Tau Fu Fah". The presentation is really not so yummy to us...and taste is also so so. haha...poor her...

Besides that, i think you can get their soya milk which so far my friends is giving a good comment too. Coming soon, i hope to ask my bf to go agian so i could triy their Ice Blended Coffee Soya Milk...should be nice to drink during a hot weather.....lol...
