My mum so curious and went out to see it...Then suddenly the people who wearing the costume of God of Fortune giving an angpow which fill with rice, my mum got it....and then a lady is very generous to give a paper lantern for my mum...

This is the paper lantern ...is it nice le?? suppose it should have light...but the switch is broken...anyway, the lantern is so cute and colorful....

A colorful mooncake

Wishing Everyone A Happy Mooncake Festival in advance...

Food at Melaka - Day Trip

Last Friday, I had went to Melaka for a day trip. One of my friend is off that day and is following me and my bf for a food searching in Melaka. To be honest, the whole trip is about eating . The time is not so rush but we just try to fully utilise our time with the food we want to have at there...

We started to take off around 11am after our breakfast at Old Town White Coffee....we had some simple meal and proceed with out journey...The weather is cold because it is raining in the morning. We reached Melaka Town around 1pm. And we begin to search for our lunch meal. But before that, we decided to have a quite dessert....which is Cendol...

Cendol @ Jonker 88 - The thing I missed there is the cendol.. they spread a lot of thick gula melaka on it which make this so tasty....I wish to have a 2nd bowl of this but my stomach just cant add it anymore...dono when I can have it again...

Suppose we thought to have chicken rice ball at the restaurant beside the bridge(which always long Q and never taste before)...but then, when we reached there, the boss say their chicken already sold out...haiirs...not a lucky day for us...But it will not make us gives up....and we continue to search for Nyonya Food...

So here we are at Nancy's Kitchen Restaurant ...

Popiah (RM3) - erm, the boss recomended us this but i felt that the popiah skin is slightly thick due to few slice of skin has been wrapped together...It it slightly not what we expected......I think I ate a popiah at Melaka before...and it is located nearby the Jonker Walk ....It is tasty and even with just some simple ingrediant...

As for your main course, we have 3 small little dishes to fill up stomach....

Top to Left : Fried Egg Cincaluk(RM6)- This is the 1st time I ate this...hehe..and Im like it very much...cincaluk is actually preserved shrimp. it is like fried egg with dried shrimp but with cincaluk, it is more soft and smooth...Four Angle Bean (RM8) - the four angle bean stir fry with spicy belacan and small prawn...Steamed Otak Otak (RM10) - we used to see otak otak being grilled and wrapped inside banana leaf ...But for this, the portion is quite big, whereby it is steamed (i guess) and a lime is served together to spread onto the otak otak to avoid any "fishy smell"..this is delicious even I seldom eat it....the texture of the otak otak is smooth and soft...

Next station....haha...Nadeje Cafe which another food which available at Melaka only....Yes, they are famous for their mille crepe and after my 1st visit, Im so in love with this mille crepe...Guess it would be slightly fattening but I cant care much....haha...And my friend never tasted this before even she did went to Melaka for few times..So here, I must bring her to try it...
We reached there around 3pm and the cafe is slightly packed with customers. We able to get a seat and begin to look for the mille crepe...

Cake of the day : Mango Yogurt Mille Crepe (RM9) - some sweet mango flesh is spread on top of the mille crepe...the cake is slightly sweet compare the original flavour..

Total we had ordered 3 slices of mille crepe : Tiramisu (RM8.50) , Original Slice (RM8.50) , Mango Yogurt (RM9)....I wish to eat another slice but stomach not allow...Somemore I guess if I bring back to KL, the mille crepe might be melted slightly and taste will be so so already...

Our tea - Rose & Marigold (RM9)....available for 2 person....a tea which for relaxation...and good to have it when you have finish a full meal...

After all this, we proceed back to Jonker Street so my friend can get some biscuits for herself and we headed back to KL....and guess what, we have porridge in PJ ....and ended the whole trip....

A day full of foods....lol

Snowy Dessert Home @ Sunway Pyramid

After our dinner, my friends suggested us to have some dessert. One of my friend from Klang, CS....is going to open a new dessert house...so he has been venturing all around to see how others is operating a dessert house/ cafe...And here is what he suggested since is quite nearby our dinner place...heading to Sunway Pyramid...

In Sunway Pyramid, there is a place called Asian Avenue whereby you saw many small outlet being opened and another corner is food outlet...We stopped at an outlet which very sweet and pinky....namely Snowy Dessert Home....the dessert house do mentioned healthy dessert...I guess is they do served bird nest and harsmar . And there are a lot of fresh juices and fruits available.

Their Menu - looks nice and colorful too...

But hard to believe that such a small outlet do served bird nest in some selected desserts...haha...

Ginger Tong Yuan (RM4.90) - just have 3 pcs of glutinious rice ball with black sesame filling..haha...quite expensive...

Fresh Fruit Sago - Kiwi (RM6.90) - color and presentation looks quite attractive...

Lots of Mango stuffs here (RM6.90 - RM7.90 per bowl): Sago in Mango with Black Glutinous Rice / Red Bean / with coconut milk / with mango sorbet..

In the menu, they high recomended for Sago in Mango with Black Glutinous Rice / Red Bean (with thumbs up!)....but upon having it, my friends and I dont feel liking it...quite tasteless except the sweet flesh of mango cubes....and dont seem to match well with red bean or black glutinous rice...Maybe the one with all mango flavour alone would be taste nicer...

Peanut French Toast (RM3)- quite oily and sweet...

Beside those sweet dessert, they actually do served other dishes like rice, noodle and some other snacks ....I guess during some hot weather or tired shopping at Sunway Pyramid, is good to drop by there..maybe for a fresh fruit juice etc...

Nambawan Restaurant & Cafe

How I found this place? I searched though some blogs saying it served quite an affordable porky meal...hehe...so, pls take note..all below is non-halal...Hope you all wont mind...

The place is hidden where my bf almost got angry searching for the place. But lucky get some help with the GPS and it is more easy to find...The restaurant which is in a simple interior....slightly warm....The lady boss is quite friendly eventhough she is quite busy when the business started..

Some of my friends able to get to here on time but some might have been lost somewhere. This never failed our gathering and I pre-order some of the dishes due to those need some timing for preparation while waiting for some of other friends...

Hereby some of the photos for that day...

Our drinks - Sour Plum Juice & Lemonade Juice . Besides all these, there are still other types of juices, hot beverages and smoothies available....

Pork Burger (RM6.90) - a simple bun which hide a big and juicy pork patty with some french fries...i think hard to eat a pork burger this outside...

Stone Charboiled Pork Belly (RM13.90)- served with some roasted potatoes and green salad...then green salad slightly salty to us...the pork belly in here is juicy and tender. Some may not like it due to there are certain fats in here...and the is just nice to eat together with the meat and potatoes...there is also a sweet apple sauce beside...the lady boss told us to eat together with it...but i prefer without it too..haha..

Roasted Pork Belly (RM13.90) - another type of pork belly being served with balsamic potatoes & green salad..above is a pork skin which deep fry till crispy but slightly hard to chew too...

Roasted Pork Ribs (RM25.80) - pork rib being marinated nicely and roasted. It look slightly dry but actually the meat is quite soft and meaty too... The portion given is quite generous too...with some fries and salads...

Amatriciana Spahgetti - forget the price...but this is recommended by the lady boss...I just taste a bit of it only..then I pass to other of my friends...because Im quite full with the porky meal..hehe..

Guess it is not easy to find a worthy porky meal in KL....but in here, you can have it...I hope to go to try their pork sausages...Fyi, those pork belly is usually available during weekend only...So before you wanna go there, do call to check it out...

MG's Cafe - 2nd Revisit

Last Sat morning, I was quite bored and open my MSN ....and suddenly nudge by my ex-colleague who is working on Sat....one of the them asking whether interested for a lunch..haha...For me is ok.......so here again vegetarian meal with Grace & Wang... We "clicked" together quite fast most of the time....Like we know what each other wanna say or think. So, the whole meal, we laughed and have fun a lot......haha...And I should thanks to Grace....for fetching us all the way to the MG's Cafe @ Hartamas.

Suppose we thought to just have a simple lunch nearby but Grace thinking of buying some mooncake for her family and bf...so suggested we go back MG's cafe...So for any vegetarian friend, if you are looking for some nice and healthy vegetarian mooncake (less sugar etc)....do drop by at MG's Cafe...They have quite a lot of flavours from baked to non baked mooncake...

Anyway, hereby few photos of my food at there...hehe

Some of our dishes : Vegie C'ken Tuna Bread-Kid Meal(RM5.80), G'ken Ball Fusilli - Kid Meal (RM8.80) , Black Pepper Spagetti (RM7.90), Curry Spring Roll (RM3.90), Crispy Bean Curd (RM3.90)..

Yes, you all not wrong..all above is dine in by 3 adults...haha...we just feel in the mood to try some kid's meal only....haha..

Hotdog Cheese Rice (RM10.80) - for this dish, we has been informed by the waitress that they need 25min to prepare this...We say ok..since we had order quite some side dishes too..Erm, when the dish is served...it turned out not what we expected. The rice is actually quite tasteless... It is a baked rice on top of a heavy melted cheese and few pieces of hotdog.....Underneath the rice, we found some sliced of mushroom....

Anyway, we have a lot of fun at there.....And our topics?? haha...just the same all the time but we yet still enjoy it...haha...

Do check out my 1st visit @ MG's Cafe .......

Venezia Italian Restaurant

Last night went for an Italian restaurant located in Cheras. It has been opened for quite some time. The restaurant is actually quite easy to be found. The interior is quite simple with wooden chair and table. To be honest, sometimes, when I pass by this restaurant, I dont noticed any customers...Maybe is due to that it is a housing area, many people will prefer to have simple chinese food more than Italian...

Since we are celebrating a friend's birthday...and most of us is staying in Cheras....and due to this, we are choosing here...convinient and we dont have to rush to eating place...Fyi, I do blog about an Italian Restaurant which highly recommended by my another friends...And Im actually do feel the differences compare with this...

Anyhow, hereby is our orders....

Cold Drinks - From Left : Lime Juice (RM4.90), Ice Lemon Tea (RM4.50), Italian Soda (RM6.50) , Orange Juice (RM4.90)

Hot Drinks - Hot Chocolate (RM6.90)

Cafe Latte (RM6.90)

Caesars Salad (RM12.90) - fresh green vegetable tossed with chunks of chicken / beef and crispy bread....Erm, compare the one I have before, this look quite watery..But some of my friend do love this ....so then is ok le..hehe...

Calamari Fritti (RM13) - deep fried calamari till crispy with the tartar sauce.....

Linguine Pasta (RM12.50) - cant remember much about the name. A flat type where rich tomato sauce is cooked together with it. It look simple but the tomato sauce did lift up our eating mood. sweet and slightly sourish..But yet, I just want to say..it still watery and can see little oily too...

Vulcano (RM27.50) - piza topped with sliced capsicum, red chilies, mushroom, turkey ham....and not to forget the cheese...quite tasty too...best eaten while hot...

Hawaiian Pizza (RM19.50) - and not to forget, Hawaiian pizza...almost every pizza we had, is a must flavour we order...ingrediant is simple as chicken meat and cubes of pineapple...but it always the favourite pizza we love to eat...

Tiramisu (RM10.50) - it is way too sweet. When you eat it, it like you are having sweetened dairy milk....lack of the cheesy kick...quite disappointed with this...lucky we ordered 1 and share together...

Conclusion, the food I enjoy most is the pizza...eventhough I dont dare to eat much because it isfattening ...got cheese lol......Their service is still ok...Foods is served one by one....to avoid it become cold too easily...

Hakka Yuen Restaurant

Entrance

Inside view

Last Friday was a super bad day. After work, as usual caught in a bad traffic and worst suddenly my dad's car broke down....We stopped at a petrol station to wait the car cool down and have someone to fix it...All the things done around 8pm and Im super hungry...We quickly drove back to Cheras and pick my brother and straight went to have our dinner...

Unable to think of anything, we just pick this restaurant since it like so newly open and my parents never tried before...Asked the owner, the restaurant has been opened for few months already...That time, the place look quiet and not much customers...My bro run through the menu....He is the one who always make the order due to he is more choosy in food.

Whats in your mind when going for a Hakka food?? Check below...

Chilies Sauce...the orange color chilies sauce quite tasty but spicy too...

Hakka Mui Choi Stewed Pork Belly (RM18) - This is the 1st dish that my brother would like to try....But quite disappointed...The dish turned out not we expected...the "mui choi" like have some sourish taste which means the dish is not so fresh....

Hakka Hong Kong Sawi (RM10) - stir fry green vegetable with some dried shrimps.....nothing special to say....

Hakka Homemade Yong Tau Foo (RM15) - we forget to count how many pieces inside but roughly have 15 pieces...The meat filing is nice and the dish turn out not so oily eventhough mostly everything been fried before...with spring onion sprinkled on top...

Hakka Steamed Fish with Sour Plum Sauce (RM48) - the most expensive dish on that day...the sauce is something like homemade plum sauce . It is slightly sour and sweet..make me think of Thai steamed fish but this dish they use plum sauce instead of lime juice....best eaten when still hot...

Overall, we finished most of the dish except for the stewed pork and mui choi...what I can say, their food is slightly bland. The best dish would be the Yong Tau Foo...hehe..Anyway, my parents said that they will not be back there for 2nd time anymore....haha...
