Nancy’s Kitchen Restaurant

The Menu

Once we reached Melaka town, we were told that we should try the Baba & Nyonya meals. After walking for few minutes, we finally had chosen Nancy’s Kitchen. Outside got a small stall whereby poh piah is being made outside when customers wanted to order. The restaurant makes me feel just back to my own home. The decoration is simple and I think it has been decorated just like a Baba & Nyonya house. All the walls have been hanged which family photos and some antics. Then they do selling some nyonya kuih which I feel so wanna eat it all.

Nyonya Cendol

Ice Lemon Tea

We checked their menu and we had order our drink which is ice lemon tea and a nyonya cendol. Erm, their cendol is too sweet. If less sweet, I think it would be nicer. Somehow, Melaka is famous for their cendol. . For sure I can eat anytime agian. For our main course, we finally decide to order a plate of Nyonya “Chap Choi “ , chicken pongteh and fish ball with egg roll soup. To be honest, it takes some times for the food to ber served.

Nyonya "Chap Choi" & Fish Ball with Egg Roll Soup

All the foods is nicely served in a small portion plate. Erm, actually im not so fancy the “Chap Choi”. Might be the color of it. But maybe this is the origin of the Baba Nyonya style. For the chicken pongteh, it actually something like the black sauce with chicken and potato. Beside chicken, you may choose “bak” which I think is pork pongteh.

Chicken Pongteh

For the soup, it is actually nice and good to taste with rice. At 1st we tot the egg roll is “fu chuk”…but actually it is really egg which fried and being roll…Nice try. Might be this is our 1st time having Baba & Nyonya meals so we did not know much. Hope you all wont mind…
