Chicken & Fresh Prawn Kuey Teow Soup

Just found a new place for simple dinner. Is actually spotted by my parents and they wanted to try it...What they have? Erm, they have Chicken Kuey Teow Soup either with chicken or fresh prawn "wan tan" and also their Claypot Porridge etc...

Since i do not wish to have any porridge during a hot day, i just choose a kuey teow soup....The soup is quite nice and the prawn which is wrapped with"wan tan" skin is really fresh.

If you are thinking of having some simple kuey teow soup, this would be the place. ..It is located nearby the Perodua centre, Taman Segar...with a row of shop lots...opposite the shops is a row of road food stalls...And the stall is in the middle of th0se stalls....

"Tim Pan Gor Gor" - Hong Kong Dessert

After a dinner, we feel that we wanna have some sweet dessert and i have suggested to go to "Tim Pan Gor Gor" which located at Kepong. I have saw some of the review online and wish to go there to try. To be honest, i very love to have desserts no matter is cold or hot. Desserts can sweeten our heart and mood which make us more happy. Do you agree it too?? haha..

So here goes our desserts. As we saw, their menu is really colorful and nice. For your info, if you really want to "buy" their menu, there is a price at the back of the menu and it costs RM500 per book..haha...We browse around the menu to find anything special and each of us get a different desserts. And im happy to post into my blog to show to you all..

Double-Skinned Milk Custard (RM5.50)- Im not sure but some say double-skinned milk custard is very healthy dessert and quite popular in HK. It look like "tau fu fa" to me but with the milk taste..haha..

Pomelo with Sago (RM5) - coconut milk with sago and with pomelo fruit. Forget to ask my friend's comment about this...

Walnut Sweet Soup + Red Beans Soup + Lotus Seed (RM3.50) - i dont think i dare to try this combination. haha...

Tau Fu Fah with Black Sesame Soup (RM5.50)- i did request for a cold "tau fu fah" but is finish. So i can have it as hot dessert. But is nice to eat. But prefer the black sesame soup to be thicker...

Ginger Soup with Sesame & Peanut Rice Balls (RM6)- 6 pcs of "tong yun" in a ginger soup. Quite nice and suit to be drink while it is still hot. Ginger soup is good to warm our body....

Black Glutinous Rice with Coconut Milk (RM6) - coconut milk blended with the ice and topped with two big and rounded black glutinous rice. Paul love this dessert. I think next time, i should try this.

Black Sesame Sweet Soup (RM3-small) - Kev had request for a cold black sesame sweet soup and it is not a good decision. haha...He say it should be nicer to have it as hot...

There are still a lot of other desserts which you can try when you are there. I hope when i did pass by there, i would love to try other of their desserts.

Fei Fei Crab Restaurant

Im not have you all heard of this restaurant before but i think they has been in a food TV show before. I was so curious and asking a group of friends(me, KK, Kev, YC, Paul, Justin & Joe) to have dinner there. I told them their have crabs and some of us actually quite love to have crabs. I have make a reservation table few days earlier and we reached there and started to make our orders.

Actually based on the map, we hardly really know where is the restaurant located as the map given is too simple. We called for direction and when we reached, then we know is somewhere like in a row of food stall corner inside a industry areas. We are quite surprised by it too.

Anyhow, for the orders is as below here....there are famous for 2 types of cooking styles for crabs which is the Lemon Crab & Sweet Corn Crab....But also due to this, it has disappointed us and we dont think we will go for 2nd time.

Sweet Corn Crab - one of their speciality. The gravy is still sweet and is still ok when the fried bun is dip and eaten together. But one thing, we feel that we cant accept it to be cooked like this. haha..we feel that the sweetness of the corn cant really match with the crab and making the taste quite weird as they added those curry leaf.

Salted Egg Crab - This is still acceptable as we usually have crab with salted eggs. You may see from the picture is actually like many salted eggs but actually the crabs is cover with flour more than the salted eggs. One thing, im not sure issit the day we ate only or how..We felt that some of the crab got a bit of weird smell / taste. Which means that the crabs is not that fresh. Got those "fishy" smell on the meat...

Teochew Style Steamed Sting-ray Fish - Actually this is one of the cooking style which recommended by Paul because his mum did steamed the fish like this for him before and very tasty. But this time, he feel the taste is totally different. The sting-ray got some "sea smell". Supposely i think most sting ray have some smell and thats why mostly what we get in KL, they prefer it to be grilled or cooked with asam...spicy and sour gravy to avoid those "sea smell"...so, in here we learnt that we will never steamed a string-ray fish in our meal anymore...haha...unless he bring us back to his hometown....

Stir-fry Bitter Gourd with Sliced Pork - this is recommended to be cooked like this by Joe. Still ok . Nothing much special but i think he would prefer the one he has ate before in other restaurant or maybe at his own home....

Square Taufu with Minced Pork - Actually this taufu is the dish i love most for that day...haha...Taste is good but got slightly spicy...the taufu is fried but soft texture within on top of some minced pork.

Stir-fry "Fan Shu Miu" with Brinjal - Taste still ok and not too spicy whereby sprinkled with some fried anchovies on top.

Fried Squid - quite crispy but it just a small portion...slightly salty and spicy...

Fried Bun - fried bun which dipped with the gravy in the crabs.

Overall, the total damage for the dinner is RM150++. If you really want to have a taste of their sweet corn crab, you may tried. It may not suit my taste but it may suits yours...lol..hehe..

Mooncake Agar-Agar

hehe....1st time doing this. Since coming soon will be Mooncake Festival, i just wish i could make my own mooncake. Yeah, i dont know how to make a real baked mooncake but at least i think agar agar would be fine for me. haha...

Below is some few photos that i taken...Erm, i think there should some improvement to be done next time...hehe...But at least i tried it then i know how the process goes by. Quite troublesome too and need few more step additional.

1st - making the "yolk" which i done a mistake here..The color not so nice...shape is perfect...haha...

2nd - the filling ( i use brown sugar)....which still ok but color wise just so so...

3rd - last - the skin (i use santan + cendol)...this is acceptable but i wonder why it does not stick well to the filling i have put in the middle...i always failed when making layers of agar-agar....

But anyway..i will keep trying next few days so i could really make a nice mooncake agar-agar for my family and friends.... Ganbateh....

Restaurant K.Intan

I just saw one of the review in a newspaper saying good about this wantan mee located this place. The place looks little bit old fashioned. Nothing fancy or expensive in term of their interior. Just like a normal coffee shop to me.
Based on the newspaper, they say the wantan mee is nice. So, me and my bf each order a plate of it. I can say the noodle is quite nice and quite special than other. No wonder they say it is homemade noodle. The "char siew" aka sweet BBQ pork, i think nothing much special....
As for the soup and meat dumpling, is also so so...To be honest, the dumpling skin is quite thick. So, when you eat it, you feel like you are eating the thick skin more than the meat.
Anyhow, if you staying nearby there, then is still a worthwhile place to have a simple noodle....
