Black Canyon Coffee

Last weekend, I have a gathering at Black Canyon at Jaya Jusco, Taman Maluri. The food served there is something like Thai-western style. Their menu is separated into 2: Food; Coffee (Drinks). I think they also have their specialty which is their coffee.

Mostly 80% of the menu of the drink is coffee. There are mocha, ice choc, cappuccino, etc. You may select from hot to cold; fruit juices to frosty ice blended; or even you can have a Japanese green tea there. My bf is ordering a hot coffee.

It just nice whereby the coffee is served with some small biscuits and a cup of honey if not mistaken. As me, I’m really full by my breakfast, so I have order a lime frost. To be honest, the lime frost is nothing special. Is just the lime ice blended which is nicely decorated with the lime peel and on top of it is the mint leaf… haha…

For the food, actually there are wide variety of choices whereby you can order for a single meal or maybe for a family set. You may order a few dishes to be eaten with the rice. The foods includes side dishes – French fries; fried spring rolls; spaghetti- green curry ; fried mee; soups – tom yam; salads; simple vegetables & meats, steaks – chicken / beef/ salmon etc…

For myself, I have tried the Grilled Salmon Salad. It just a small portion with few slices of salmon with those green veggies. The salmon is fresh and nicely done. For my bf, he has order the beef steak which requested not to be overdone. Mostly all the steaks there are served with fries and slices of breads. Some of my friends have ordered the Chicken steak and also the salmon steak. As informed by bf, his steak is overdone, so he tries very hardly to finish the dish. Lucky I don’t eat beef too..So, I don’t know how it taste.

Last time, I did ordered the tom yam soup before. Be frank, I really love to have tom yam soup no matter where I go. I love their hot and spicy but also some sour taste. I did cook my own tom yam. Very easy, put 2 cubes of those tom yam stocks and add in other veggies and meats… haha..As for this time, my friend ordered the soup and I felt little different. Might be the prawn is not so fresh. I just have the soup except for the prawns.

Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks

This morning, i had a very late breakfast. We just straight to Low Yat as we need to get some info for some pc stuffs. Before that, we drop by to have some light foods. And here we are to have the Taiwan street snack. Actually i have tried this before at 1Utama(Old Wing). When im at 1U, the shop is really crowded and and mostly all the ppls are make their order and take away to some other place to enjoy their food. As for here, haha...very funny, not much ppl when i entered this shop at Low Yat. The place is kinda spacious compare 1U. Might be still early that time.

So, as usual, i have order the Homemade Osyter Mee Sua (RM6). This is the main and mostly ppl will order this. It is a yummy mee sua and it feel like having shark fin soup..hehe...The dish was served with 3 osyters, some sliced chicken with the soup kinda sticky . The soup really delicious. In order to taste fully and originally of the dish, you can use spoon only. This is what i saw from a board which stated in the shop...funny rite??

My bf had order the Ricebox set with drinks (RM9). It is actually the deep fried chicken served with rice, white toufu and some century eggs. The chicken is fried when you order so it is hot when the food is served and make the chicken so crispy.

Besides all this, there are dishes which served in this shop. Eg: XXL Crispy Chicken, Crispy Floss Egg Crepe and Seafood Tempura. For the drinks, there is not much choices as they just have the minerals waters or Soya Milk. lol....

No worry everyone. If you all do not able to make it to Low Yat, you all can enjoy this dishes at 1Utama or i heard Pavillion also have one.

888 Food Planet

Erm, i just spotted this food court last week. and wow....the name is really nice..."triple 8" means "Fatt Fatt Fatt" in Cantonese. This food court is clean and build with 160 lots of parkings whereby after 6pm -6am, the parking is free. It something like "PatYeTin" in Cheras. This food court also hav 2 big screens using the projectors which i think it is really "syok" to have a drink there while watching the football match.

As you step into the main entrance, there is a small fountain which i think build in for feng sui kuo..then beside the fountain, there is a unique stall selling "lok lok"....all the "lok lok" is nicely served and every sticks has its color code to differentiate the pricing ranging from RM0.50 - RM4.

When you look into the food court, you will see many stalls inside which serving different kind of dishes such as Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Western & Chinese etc. Beside that, there also some shoplots for ppl to rent to sell magazines, books, mini market and DVDs too...Since im having my dinner there, i have order myself the Korean meal which is the KimChi soup rice (RM10). The stall is managed by a truly Korean man..How i know it? Coz the way he speak and make me confirmed he is not a Malaysian. He very recommend me on this dish and i trusted him. The soup is kinda spicy to me but it is served kimchi and salad with a rice. The soup consist of white taufu; taufu "pok"; vegetables and chunk of porks. The taste is still acceptable.

While my bf had ordered a simple sliced chicken porridge(RM4). The porridge is nicely served in a new pot and those sliced chicken on top of it.

For the drinks, we have choose the Strawberry Ice Blended(RM3.80). The whole glass in pinky color which on top it put some of the strawberry jam to add more taste to the drink while below it, there is some pudding which im not sure why they put below it. But overall, we love the drinks.

So, new place for those ppl who wanna try new area with new foods.

Shin Yu Japanese & Chinese Healthy Restaurant

This restaurant is used to be my very usual place to have lunch in my previous company. It is located same row with the Public Bank in Taman Maluri. It has been so long i dont have my meal there and one of my ex-colleague told me there got a new vege house with vegetarian sushi..haha...sure i wish to try it and here im today for dinner for 3 persons.

Looking through the menu, it did have some sushi which you can found it at Sushi King oh....but everything in this restaurant is purely vege...Beside Japanese food, they also maintain the usual Chinese style of meals. For drink, we have a very traditional green tea...just like what we love to have in Japanese restaurant.

Since today my main purpose is to taste the vegetarian sushi, so my ex-colleague order a set of various sushi which is Sushi Moriwase (Rm14) . I think they are 14 pieces of sushi serves with soy sauce and wasabi. It taste nice too and just like same i have in those normal sushi.

Then, for the main course, we order a simple Fried Rice and Fish Head Mee Hon. It may look just the same like what we can have outside but it is vegetarian, so for sure there are slightly different in term of the taste & also the ingredients. But, i think it worth to try it.

Lastly, we also did ordered a side dishes which is the Tempura Mix. haha...this dish really "big"....lol....not enugh for us to have it with more vegetables. I think it hav deep fried abalone mushroom, lady finger, sweet potato; vegetable ham.. etc...if not mistaken...haha . ...for sure the tempura is crispy and nicely deep fried in golden color le...

If future, i may try other of the dishes and more other sushi...hehehe...I think this blog suit for those vegetarian....Just giv it a try their other dishes to see which suit ur taste...

Cagayan's Cafe - Centre Point, Bandar Utama

After checking through online, I have decided to celebrate my fren's birthday at Cagayan's Cafe. At 1st, i thought it would be a big place but actually it is not. But no worry, its still fit for 8 persons like us. lol. ...Its some kind of Filipino taste of foods- non halal, oh!!.But the menu shows some of the Japanese + Westernese dishes too. This is the 1st time im trying and i feel it something like our chinese style. All the foods there mostly is "porky" style. What we order mostly 90% have meats(pork).

Those waiters are really friendly and they know cantonese speaking oh..haha...and when we asked what's special at here and they reallly explained and show to us. When we arrived, we have order our drinks. Drinks & desserts to be choose : Green Tea (hot / cold)- Bottomless drink , Hot Chocolate, Fruit / MilkShake, Ice Kacang, Brownies etc. For sure, i have ordered Green tea...coz at least after eating so much meat, i think it shld be drink the tea to "drain" all the fats...haha..

We run through the menu and we have order few dishes. 1st, we ordered Golden Mushroom Bacon Maki. I love the bacon. It is the stir-fried spears of golden mushroom wrapped in the pork bacon. This dish is not so oily to me and i love it. Maybe, next time i make my own 1. The we have the Crispy Pata. Frankly speaking, this is not one of my choice coz i feel there is too much fat pork inside. But some of friends, love it. haha...is like eating "siew yoke" but with more fatty parts....It is pork leg marinated and deep fried to make it crisy and dip in the soy sauce with red chilies.

Then we order Porky Dumpling which all of us love it so much & the Nyonya Pork Satay which is the skewer of succulent grilled pork serves with nyonya style satay sauce. Another hot and big dish we ordered is the Regular Piggy, haha...cute name rite?? It a regular size portion of tender ribs and we have chosen the Classic sauce. It is really soft and juicy. The photo look blurry and small but actually it have 6 stabs which i think suit for a group of 3-4ppls to have this dish

After so much of meaty dishes, then we choose 2 of them which is not so "meaty" which is the Fried asparagus and the Sinigang-a stew of meat or seafood with vegetables in sour and spicy broth. We have choose the Prawn Sinigang, its a like of tom yam soup, not so spicy but kinda sour too and mixed with few vegetables. Just suit the day since it is raining when we reach there. This dish has cause some misunderstand and also some jokes to one of my friends. He dare go and tell the waiter to ask for refill. haha..the soup is not free 1. It one of the dish we order. hahahaha...The waiter who serve us really nice and willing to "refill" for us. Really thanks them...

The end, we are satisfy with the meals and we enjoy it too...All the dishes is also served with the white rice. So, it sould be a full meaty meal. I think guys would love to have such meals but not to certain girls who are on diet. hehe...
