Sek Hou Restaurant

If you are looking for a nice place to have something different lunch, here you are…Sek Hou Restaurant. What so different about this place. With you 1st impression, it is just like those normal Hong Kong style food corner. But they offered a more extensive choice which includes Chinese High Grade Delicacies, Healthy Chinese Herbal meals and wide range of smoothies/ ice blended beverages. My favorites..lol.

I saw one of their leaflet, there do offered Sea Cucumber Braised with Abalone , Monk Jump Over the Wall with 5 Treasures and also Shark Fin soup with Pacific Clams…high class….for your info, I checked the menu before and the abalone costs RM38++…Wonder true or not. Too bad, I don’t think I will go there to try those meals.

So what I have got for myself?? Erm…as usual, Im having my late lunch with my bf after a long journey from his hometown. He has ordered the Barbecued Spare Ribs with “Dong Gui” & Fried Three-tier Pork. Erm, to be honest the barbecued spare ribs really not “easy” to eat.. Too hard to eat it and that spare ribs just like over-fry. The color is too dark. Not suit for old people to eat it too. For the fried three-tier pork is something like the black pepper pork. For the rice, I think is not like those normal white rice. It may have been cooked with some butter and eggs to make it little golden. The rice is acceptable.

Then for me, I have ordered Fried Fish Fillet with Rice in “Thai Style. The rice is same as what I comment before. The only different is I order is the fish fillet with Thai Sauce. Haha….Overall, this meal is more acceptable than what my bf ordered. Haha…Im the one who suggested him try that and the end, he suffered. But lucky, he finished his meals too.

Both of us have ordered a very colorful drink. I have Hundred- Flavour Tea. When you drink it, you feel it is like a mixed fruit drink. Inside might have orange, peach, plum, lemon or maybe papaya.. I don’t think many people can guess the full ingredient of it. Nice to try.

For my bf, I have ordered him a drink called “Colourful World”. Actually is also the drink I wish to try. Haha…because when I saw the pic in the menu, is so nice and looks yummy. It is a ice blended drink. Erm, to be honest, I love this drink….it has 3 layers. On bottom is the plum juice, middle is lychee juice if not mistaken and the top is cream soda in blue color with some jellies..hahah..Hey, look more into the menu and you know, most of their beverage is very colorful.

I wish to try their Fried Egg Skin Thick Toast that time but somehow, they say they don’t have bread. Meaning? I don’t know too and I don’t ask more. If feel unsure, do take a look into their website for more info. Good news to students. Students who are in their uniform or flashing their student card can get discount as high as 30% with terms and conditions applied…lol..

Public Handphone Charger

What news stuff for today? Its handphone charging in public…Issit free? For sure no le.. There are no free things in this world. Is cost RM1.50 but not sure charge for how long as it did not mention it. This is my 1st time spotted this machine .It is something like the size of a public phone whereby there are numbers to be press and something like a slot machine to put your handphone battery in to charge.

It does provide instruction for you to follow and it look easy with 8 steps. So for those who always out of battery outside, try look out for such public charger machine. Im not sure where else but I sure you can found one at Jusco Taman Maluri. It nearby the cosmetic department which near the lift.

Food & Tea Restaurant

Im sure everyone would be familiar with this restaurant. It is something like the Kim Gary Restaurant. Now they have a new menu with more variety of food and drinks. I just drop by at the Jusco Cheras Selatan and feeling to have something and we just walked into this restaurant. This is my 2nd time in this restaurant. Since they offered new menu, so for sure I need to try try…lol..i look through their menu and the menu really colorful and nice. They have many varieties such as soups, appetizers, toast, sandwich, rice, noodles, spaghetti, desserts and lots of drinks to be choose from.
My bf have order a BB Grass Jelly. Erm, when the drink is served, I tot is like those normal grass jelly but when I taste it, it not just sweet but also some sour taste. Like it has added lemon on it. Then inside, got some grass jelly and pieces of tau fu fa (my bf’s say) etc. To be honest, the drink really refreshing. When I got a chance, I will get the drink again as I go shopping there.

For myself, I have ordered Red Bean , Barley and Milk Dessert. Eh…actually after I order then baru I know, I shouldn’t drink milk temporarily due to the melamine case…haha….But I also did finish the drink. But is a nice thing to try too.. But im sure everyone can cook this at home. Just boil the red bean and barley till soft and then boil hot milk and mix everything together. Haha..Try it at home…Erm, I got an ideas..maybe you all can replace milk with soya bean le..i bet sure more tasty…
Then in a hundred of foods in the menu, my bf has chosen to taste their Chef Recommendation which is the Buttered Chicken Diced with Rice. Haha…when the food served to us, I just can see all white liquid on top of the rice. Erm, for our comment, we think that the gravy is not so strong flavor enough.. Like we cant really taste it is a buttered chicken…

Overall, we cant comment much as we don’t really taste the whole set of their new menu. Maybe will make 1 day and go again to try more. If you think Cheras Selatan Jusco is far, maybe you can try at other place. They have many branches available at Taman Segar, Berjaya Times Square, The Mines, Jusco Metro Prima Kepong and many more…

Ah Yip Herbal Soup

Last night, me and my bf has drop by Low Yat to purchase some notebook accessories. Then, met with heavy rain. So we waited the rain to stop and we decide to have dinner at Ah Yip Herbal Soup. The shop is really full of many expensive “things”.. hehe…Shark fins, bird nest , ginseng and many types of herbal.

We were guided to a seat and given a menu book. In the menu, there are many types of herbals soup. Each soup has their own functions and good enough they do show to us. Those soups are ranged from RM6.90 – RM88.00 per bowl. And believe it or not, they have ABC soup too and that the cheapest. But they do have set meal which more affordable and suit for those working peoples. It has a bowl of rice, a meat, a simple veggies and not to say a bowl of soup. The price is depending on what kind of soup you are ordering.

So, when coming to order, we have chosen a Meal Set and the soup we choose is American Ginseng & “Tian Qi” Soup(RM18). In the menu, it says, it can prevent hypertension, lowing cholesterol and fat…Not sure true or not. Then we have add an extra bowl of rice and additional a plate of white toufu. The toufu is nice but not cheap too (RM8). Actually im not the kind of people who fancy those herbal soups. So I don’t have much comment on it. But truly, their soup is full of ingredients le. I think that is what it worth.

So, if one day, you really lazy to make some herbal soup but you really wan to have it, then just drop by at this restaurant. Any soup you can choose from. For sure, better “ingredients”, sure more expensive le. Lol….. Hehe…That time, we ordered 1 single meal set but add 1 side dish and a bowl of rice…save little and we have our own drink. Plain water.….haha…

Chong Ko Mee - "Hakka Mee"

Finally I able to post few photos since after sometimes I been to Kuala Lipis, Pahang. To be honest, it is a small town but yet there is something simple but tasty mee to eat. Haha….This mee did introduce by “Astro AEC Ah Xian Ren Qing Wei”.. The stall located in the middle of the many shop-lots. It looks like a lorong to me. But there is just like so warm and friendly place to walk through. Many people love having their breakfast there.

What so special about this stall? This stall is called Chong Ko Mee Stall if not mistaken. Because the local people will always mention,” Let’s go to eat Chong Ko mee”…. The food they served looks simple. The most special is their mee. The mee is really tasty and chewy…should I say like this? Donno how to explain but is just nice. I think supposing it is a Hakka Mee and what makes many people love is because of the mee. The mee is handmade everyday. It not those yellowish mee like what we did have normally and it is not so oily.

How they serve the mee? I saw once, no matter dry or mee soup, it will be the same. Haha…no dark soy sauce and the soup also won’t cover the whole bowl of mee. It served with little bit soup so the mee wont look dry , some minced chicken and pinch of spring onions. So, it should be halal. Haha… But make sure you go there early. There is sometimes when I reach the stall around 930am, all the mee is sold out and left just those normal mee which look like wan tan mee.

Beside this, there is another stall, is selling Fried Kiew Tiew Mee. Haha…but special are they use the handmade mee by Chong Ko stall. It can be stir-fry with dark sauce or a sweet dark sauce with eggs and fresh clams. I taste the dark sauce and also sweet sauce…It just same tasty. Haha…But as u know, stir-fry sure little oily le. But no worry, once a while it won’t make you fat. Hey, I saw in TV show, they have “Clams Chop” but I never tasted it. Its like fried eggs with many clams.

One of their culture, for this both mee, they need to taste with their specially made from that town chilies sauce. The chilies sauce is not so spicy and it makes you feel like eating more. I saw them put a lot of this chilies sauce on their Hakka mee till reddish…haha…believe it. My bf is one of them….

Erm, I think once u reach the town near the Post office there, you can ask the local people about these 2 stalls and they will guide you. Just don’t worry, if really don’t like it, maybe you can try other such as Yong Tau Fu, Fried Dumpling, or curry mee or if you want, I heard they say those Malay stalls which sell rendang with nasi pulut also nice. And if you rich enough, you can go to a restaurant whereby there served very expensive steamed fish. Heard only the fish also costs about rm100-200++. I think is the King of the Fish. But maybe they worth for the price if the fish is fresh enough. Who want to treat me?? I sure try it… lol…

Nippy Noodle Restaurant

Im sure there are many people who sure love Wan Tan noodle. And here goes Kuchai Lama, there is a restaurant whereby they will produce their own noodle in order to add uniqueness in their meal. Once you step into the restaurant, there is a glass room whereby you could see it is a room for producing those noodles with a long and big bamboo eh. Really traditional oh…and this is how the name came: Bamboo Noodle. This restaurant did introduced by “Ho Chak” & “1 Day 5 Meals”.

We have run through the menu and we decided to order few types of noodles to try on. Every noodle is served differently like add on with “Char Siew”; “Siew Yoke”; Pickled Vegetables; Pork Sausage; Roasted Herbal Liver and many others more choices etc

"Siew Yoke" Bamboo Noodle

Mixed Pork Bamboo Noodle

Pickled Vegetable with Sliced Pork

For the side dishes, I have order the Prawn Bamboo Dumpling & the Prawn Bamboo Wanton.

The prawn wanton is nicely served with just a simple and clear soup. Inside every wanton is wrapped with prawns and some meats. You may found such wanton in some where else but the important of this wanton is the prawns need to be fresh so it will be taste good when eaten it.

For the Prawn Bamboo Dumpling, it is something like what you did tried for the Taiwan Dumpling. It is pan fried of prawn and meats paste slowly and served with the slices of gingers and dark vinegar just like eating those “siew long pau”.

Ka Fei Tiam

If you ever been to normal Oldtown Coffee House, maybe this is one of those same type of coffee shop. The similarity about the foods served is like toast bread; half boiled eggs; coffee; tea etc. The differences will be the Ka Fei Tiam offered more choices of foods like we have in mamak style such as mee goreng etc. If not mistaken, they also offered some western dishes like fish & chip, French fries etc….You may run through their menu whereby there do stated the recommended foods & drinks.

When we visited the place, we have tried his spicy Mamak Mee Goreng & Sambal Fried Rice. Both of this really spicy. The taste is nice but I hope it could be less spicy…hehe…When the food is served, the portion is really big but we still manage to finish it.. From the photos, you can see is nothing much different from the one you ate before in mamak but maybe look bigger portion and with more ingredients. At least have prawns and slices of chicken and veggies…lol..

If you really drop by near the Digital Mall Seksyen 14 and not so sure what to have, do make a visit since it is better eat at there with more choices and lower price compare to have the limited choices at those fast food restaurants.

Restaurant Tien Pin

This will be my 3rd visit to this restaurant. I think you hardly can notice this restaurant unless you know the location. Based on my observation, mostly their customers will be nearby housing areas or some who are drop by for take away . The restaurant is clean whereby there is a big wooden menu being put on the wall and some photos of the foods & drinks where being displayed together.
What I love to go there is, I can taste their Stir-Fry Fish Noodle & “Chee Cheong Fun”. It is like those fried kiew tiew but the ingredient is different. FYI, it is not halal coz it is cook using pork oil (“chu yau cha”)….haha….And because of this, I just loving it .

Beside this, they also have the simple “chee cheong fun” & Mee Pok Soup (Fish Ball Noodle). But my opinion, if really wanna taste the simple “cheong fun”, then no need go so far, just drop by those morning market and you can have those “cheong fun” with more additional choices too.

For those who looking for some light breakfast / lunch /tea time, you may choose Yam Cake or maybe Toast Bread, some simple “Yong Tau Fu”, Dumplings, Tau Fu Fa, Red Bean Dessert, Hainan Tea, Barley Fu Chuk etc. Just take a look for yourself….

Woo Pin Fish Head Noodles

Early in the morning, my bf has brought me to a restaurant which only served fish head noodle. He told me the fish head noodle is very tasty and famous. Many peoples came to the restaurant to eat it. When we arrived around 10am, the restaurant is full of peoples and we wait for 15min just to get a table for us. We quickly ordered their fish head noodle while I order fish paste noodle.

It takes about ½ hours for the noodle to serve to us. The soup is little bit reddish-orange. I think might be due to the tomato. The soup is really sweet and the mee hun is not same as those mee hun we have outside. This mee hun is more thicker. Each bowl of the noodle is cost RM6.50 and I really cant finish it too coz they really give a lot of mee hun.

When I was eating, a group of people is waiting and make their order. So once we finish it, then they will directly take our place to enjoy their meals. From far, I can see many people is waiting to get a seat and some even pack it to take away to eat at home. So, with all this, I can surely everyone is loving to have the fish head noodle served in here. What sad is I cant get the address to show to u all as I just know the place is at Old Klang Road. Lol….

Restaurant Shen Jing Sheng

While keep wondering what to eat for dinner, finally my bro brought me to this restaurant. Is actually is nothing special than other Chinese restaurant. The place is clean and nice. And the restaurant is located nearby housing areas and I think if the person not familiar with the place, they will never find it. There are many new shop lots there and I found this restaurant is full of customers. Since so many peoples is visiting the restaurant, then sure the foods sure “yummy”…My bro have ordered 4 dishes which consists of pork, a stir-fried veggie, a steamed fish.

What I would really wish to eat again will be the pork. Is pork with “char siew” sauce. Really yummy but just the pork little bit fat. I’m sure many of them would love this.
The steamed fish really fresh and we all enjoyed it so much.

There are many other type of dishes to be served there. You can check on their menu or ask for their opinion on any favorites / popular dishes.
