Taiwan Street

Entrance

The middle beverages counter...whereby walk-in customer can make purchase easily...

Food food food....all my mind is about food most of the time.. haha..Lucky my bf dont grumble much but to join me together for the meal..haha..

So, this time, I went to Taiwan Street located at Tropicana City Mall....for a try. As you seen, lately the weather is just hot and cold the same time. What's really interesting in the cafe is they served a lot of beverages and i think the most famous of all would be those Bubble Tea...

When we actually saw the menu, we are just undecided of what to drink. But for sure we are aim for cold drink. After a few minutes, then we make our orders...

Our drinks - Jasmine Plum Tea [right] ( RM5.90) - a drink which is quite refreshing. It is not sour at all but there is a strong jasmine smell..some of you all may not like it but it is ok for me.... Special Mixed Fruit Tea [left] (RM6.90) - the drink is slightly sour but it might be too sweet at the same time..im try try drink it when he not aware..haha, quite nice ... what special about this drink is below it have some barleys, nuts (which is boiled till soft), red beans, bubble jelly, etc...haha...the blue is his iphone...with a blue "devil" cover..hehe..trying to show off...

Claypot Loh Shu Fun (RM10.80) - it is served hot inside a claypot with the ingrediants such as pieces of Taiwan sausages, mushroom, and egg on top and the minced meat.....when at 1st it look too watery but the gravy will slowly dry. Taste still acceptable...

Spicy Hot Ramen (RM9.80)- Actually the soup is quite ok...but when eat more, then it feel more spicy ...Consists of few simple ingrediants like squid, corns, beansprout, crab stick, mushroom etc....aikks..i dono why I hate mushroom so much...I give to my bf to eat it...Anyway, nothing special about this dish....

Anyway, the place do really served a lot of beverages. If there is a chance, i sure go there for their beverages and maybe their snacks...The cafe is just nearby the GSC counters. If by chance that you have time before a movie, just have a try at there...

Restaurant 88 @ Jalan Kuchai Lama

Last Friday, i had went for dinner with my family. My bro is the one who bring us to this restaurant. Is opposite road at the Talipon Steamboat Restaurant @ Jalan Kuchai Lama. I never know place is surrouand with those housing areas but suddenly got a restaurant in a corner..haha..Quite hidden too...unless, you familiar with the place there...

It is called Restaurant 88. In front of the restaurant, there is a parking place but slightly darker due to not much lights nearby there... My bro say the place will be quite crowded during weekend...So, he ask me go inside to find place while he park the car...haha...so "kan cheung"....Anyway, we are lucky because that time is not so pack with customers. Maybe due to raining weather that time...

So, we begin to make our orders...Frankly speaking, i dont see they have any menu book. But i can see some of the recommended dish is written on the paper and stick onto the wall but all in Mandarin. haha.. I dont know Mandarin...So, all depend to my bro who know it and by asking the boss what he can recommend to us.

Hereby the dishes we have....

Tepanyaki Style Seafood - consist of squids, prawns, fish paste and fish meat being cooked with the thick and dry gravy ...the gravy slightly spicy...quite nice and flavouring...

"Shu Miu" vegetable - vegetable stir fry with fermented beancurd...taste just nice to be eaten with rice...

"Dong Po" Pork - I forget the name actually but the boss say is slighty look like "dong po" pork...but not too fat...The meat is nice but the sauce is just so so.. not flavouring enough...

Teow Chew Style Steamed Fish - This is slightly different from the outside teow chew style steamed fish. This is because they put fried minced "choy po" and minced onion . Then spread on top of the steamed fish together with the soy sauce.. As you all know, the "choy po" is salty so it is good to be eaten together with the rice.

The Rice - surprise enugh, the white rice is put into the container and is on the table . So it is refillable by ourself as you like.

Haha..guess what..the total bill is total RM88 (included a pot of chinese tea-RM4) ...just the same as the restaurant name. What a lucky no....

Dinner at Kenny Rogers Roasters Restaurant

Sorry for the late posting. Lately i have been quite busy...ya ya..i know all my friends would be surprise that I would say busy....is true oh....not sure what happen...since 2010, it seem like have a lot of work to be done in office..hehe..should be a good new too...Got thing to do, means business is good lol..haha..

And another good news is I got a new mini laptop....HP Mini 210 (10.1 inch)... The HP Mini came in 4 colors : Black, Red, Blue and Silver White....and I jus got my favourite color ...Red..."ong ong " color...just smaller than my previous Acer (14.1inch)....so enjoy and keep playing with it . My bf bought it for me for RM1299 so that he can use my old Acer laptop. He need the Acer to do IT support for his business...haha...So in future, i can bring my HP Mini everywhere....

Lets get back to this post... Actually last week,we are rushing for the special screening movie "Kaiji- The Ultimate Gambler" at Cathay cinema. The movie quite nice eventhough the begining of the story is quite bored to me...Lucky they have subtitles in english, BM and Chinese..if not, the movie is like no sound to me...So, my bf and I walked into Kenny Rogers to have a quick meal due to that time, we saw the restaurant is not so packed with customers.

Im sure most of all of us have been eating at Kenny Rogers Roasters Restaurant before. Actually their roasted chicken is quite tasty...But to be honest the price is slightly expensive. A set of meal can cost about RM20+ per person. So, I have suggested to share a course meal together...Smart choice... I can eat lesser and the same time, we can enjoy the meal too...lol

We have ordered the set of 1/2 chicken + 3 side dishes (Aromatic Rice , Coleslaw and Mashed Potato) - RM24.50. The meal is quite full too since i purposely order the rice and mashed potato.. My bf must eat rice to feel full. For me, haha...anything will do...

The set come with a Vanilla Muffin. I ordered a glass of 4Season- Winter ( RM5.50 ) - something like a soda on top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream..

The total bill cost RM34.50. If some day you wish to have roasted chicken, you may drop by this place and they have many sideline dishes for you all to choose. If you are small eat, so, just share your meal together. There is nothing wrong...hehe...

Fong Lum Restaurant @ Cameron Highlands

Last weekend, i had went for an unexpected trip to Cameron. It is quite a rush trip due to we did not stay overnight there. We started to travel together with my bf's bro, his gf and his mum from their hometown all the way to Gua Musang and then from there travel to Cameron. It is still same need roughly about 3hours to reach but the good things is we save the toll...haha...

We started to travel around 11am and reached there around 2pm++...We walked around the market where many stalls selling strawberries, vegetables, flowers, corns etc..I just went to there to have some steamed sweet potatoes. Really la...no kidding..haha.......frm there i could feel the cold wind ...so nice , i never get to feel it in KL too..

Then we went to Brinchang for our late lunch. We stopped at Fong Lum Restaurant. At 1st we really thought of having KFC only because we knew that eating at one of the restaurant there is sure slightly expensive ...But suddenly the lady boss flashing the menu to us to see and we saw the price is still acceptable so, we decided to choose to eat there.... At least when we make order, we know the price rather than some restaurant did not show the price and after that, simply charged us .

Beside those normal dishes, the restaurant actually do served steamboat too. But actually Cameron Highlands is quite famous for steamboat. Maybe due to the weather there is just good for steamboat-ing ...Time quite rush for us and we just order few dishes as our lunch.

Salted Fish with Pork in Pot - slices of pork being stir-fry in dark sauce together with small pieces of salted fish, dried chilies, onions and mushroom....taste wise is acceptable....

Green Vegetable - forget what this vege called. I was once heard from someone, this vegetable is only available in Cameron. Not sure true or not. It taste something like "paku pakis" vegetable...taste good together with sambal / dried shrimps...

Stir-Fry Brinjal with Salted Fish - haha..i think salted fish really an added taste to every dish...The brinjal is sliced in long piece and stir fry with spring onion and small piece of salted fish...Quite nice but at the same time, i feel the dish quite oily too..

Plain Stir-fry String Beans - string beans being cut and deep fried. Then once again stir fry with onion and few pieces of carrots for decoration purposes...haha...nothing special on this...

Total bills cost about RM60++ (included 3 rice, a pot of tea for 5 persons)

Finally, a snapshot of a pot of flower in front the restaurant which caught my attention...so reddish and pretty...Actually i quite love the weather there. And the flowers is growing nicely there and so colorful...

Carefree Cafe @ Kepong

Last Sun, a group of my close friends and me went to visit HF at Kepong . We are super fed- up when during Sun, the traffic is same jammed like the normal weekdays. We have stucked in the traffic for almost 1hour + and we are quite hungry that time(some of us havent taken breakfast too). Once we reached there, it is almost lunch time and we stopped nearby to have our meal 1st.

Some of us spotted this cafe and maybe thinks the cafe name sound cute....and this is the reasons, they walked in to check on any nice meal to have. It look like it is quite newly open. Many comic book being placed nicely on the book shelf....and to be honest, all the comic books is still new too . The cafe is also have equipped with WIFI. I think their targeted customers is mostly those comic lovers( especially mandarin)....Walau eh..all my friends is "banana" and do not read mandarin. So, we cant read any of the comic there except for a meal. And worst, the menu is also in mandarin ....ohh..we need to ask the waitress one by one or view by picture in the menu shown...

Just to cut short...below is the set meal i have...

Fried Mee Hoon - taste wise still acceptable but i dont like the mee hoon being stick together ....making it not nice to eat and the portion is quite small.

Hot Honey Lemon - come together with the lunch set. Nothing much special.

Sorry, that i unable to take photos of other set menu because Im losing the mood that time due to the traffic. Somemore the food served is just so so. But i heard one of my friend saying their Lemon Chicken set is quite nice. haha...If not mistaken ,my set is costs about RM5.80++

If you are staying nearby there, maybe you can have a try at this cafe....especially those comic lovers..

Kimchi Korean Restaurant - Tropicana City

Last Sat, suddenly the weather is slightly cold due to the raining. We are at the Tropicana City and just to check whether any nice movie but too bad the movie we wanna watch is full booked. So, feeling disappointed, we went to have our dinner.

We spotted this pinky board which serving korean food. Quite attractive too. I saw they do have korean BBQ too..Erm, actually we are just wanna have the korean ginseng chicken soup..hehe..

Inside interior

Counter where food & beverages served to customer

Actually , the place is not so spacios so not much table can be alloacted there due to 1/2 of the restaurant is the kitchen and counter for beverages served. We wait for about 5min then we have table as that time is quite packed with customers. The waiter is very polite and we have been pass the menu to look through...

So, we have quite some simple Korean meal actually that night.....

"Starter"- variety of dishes in small plate...and is refillable and given for free once you dine in there...

Korean Flower Tea (RM6.90) - for 2 person with a small cup...very refreshing rose tea, i think..can see the floating rose buds in the pot. Anyway, we are allow to add hot water once we finish....so it is still acceptable...

Samk Key Tang - Ginseng Spring Chicken Soup (RM29.80) - a soup which is not oily at all...inside have a small chicken being boiled together and inside the chicken 's stomach have some rice , ginseng roots and nuts(not sure what the nuts called) . The chicken meat is so tender and i can tell you, this bowl of soup can be finish by 3 people too...We almost cant finish it with 2 of us...

Kimchi Jeon (RM16.80) - a traditional korean kimchi pancake . Nicely done and served with a chilies oil....the chilies oil is quite spicy too...So i prefer to eat without it..haha..

Our bowl of rice(RM5) - the bowl is fully filled by the rice ...I cant finish it by myself. The end, my bf settle it...he so full till the end...

The above meal actually can be eaten by 3 person together with all the refillable "starter". Total bill is RM69.85 (added service charge 10%)

Yan Yan A One Restaurant

Yesterday, my house is out of electricity by the time i reached home after work. The weather is already hot and there is not fan. I took my shower to cool myself and begin to take my HP and call to TNB. And they will be saying they are trying to fix the problems and will be done by 2-3 hours...Haiirss...Do you know, my areas is very frequent did not have the electricity. The worst is , all the time is just the row of my house do not have but the opposite row of houses got electric...Very hate this... Same road, same place but different electric cable...

And due to this, my dad unable to cook rice and do his routine job. So, i have suggested to have dinner outside. Waiting my bro to come back and we went to Old Klang Road for our dinner. This restaurant, i have been spotted few times while on my way travel to Old Klang Road to Midvalley. At 1st, we are quite doubt to go inside because my mum saw a signboard stating " 24 hours dim sum"...haha...wont kuo..dim sum for dinner?? No way...

Then, we check the main board, that they do actually served chinese cuisine, Bak Kut Teh and also dim sum...Anyway, we sure go for chinese cuisine...and we are super hungry..lucky that time not much customers and we get to serve quite fast.

Hereby the meals we ordered:

Sliced Fish with "Kung Po" style (RM24) - erm, this is quite disappointed us. We saw many dried chilies and onion more than the fish meat...haha..The fish meat also got little bit "fishy smell"...not sure what fish meat they used...

Sesame Sauce Pork Rib (RM18) - The taste is quite nice..something like marmite but not...pork rib with sweet sauce and sprinkled with sesame seed. But i check just got about 5-6pcs of pork only...Not enough for 4 of us...haha

Green Vegetable (RM12)- Stir-fry vegetable with added oyster sauce...Anything which added oyster sauce sure look more flavouring...do you all agree it?? The vegetable is fresh too..

Mixed Seafood Pot (RM36) - This is nice. My parents love it and quite flavouring. Inside have sliced fish maw, mushroom, few piece of fresh scallops, dried scallops, brocolli, etc...The sauce is not sticky and good to eat together with rice.

Total bill costs about RM101.60 (included a pot of tea, 4 bowl of rice and a peanut-starter)

Wong Kok Char Chan Teng - 1Utama Branch

Im sure most of all would be dropping by at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng before. Yes. I have been to their Leisure Mall branch and also 1Utama branch. It is something like Kim Gary Restaurant to me offering those "Hong Kong" style of dishes...

Anyway, just so coincidence that i drop by at 1U and finding El to have lunch together...hehe...It has been about 5month we dint meet each other. Quite miss her too...We dont changed much and same very "kepo" only..haha...We just talk watever we want and interesting. I know she is quite busy and stress for her current job. But hope she could be strong and "ganbate" more lol...

To avoid any time wasted, we just have our lunch at the Wong Kok and make our orders. The place is quite spacious but at the same time the air-conditioning is cold too..Maybe during that time is lunch hour, so there are a lot of customers having their meal there.

Below is few of the things i have ordered. Some pictures im too lazy to take and dont feel any special on it..haha..

Iced Honey Passion Fruit (if not mistaken the name) - see the floating passion fruit seeds?? this drink is very refreshing and big enugh to share for 2 person.. But somehow, i managed to finish it by myself...haha...im really a "water tank"....

Ham & Bacon Sandwich - Quite dry and plain the for a sandwich eventhough i love to eat the bacon and ham together. Included is the sliced cucumber and tomatoes. And just have 2 pieces only. Dont think can share too...

Fried Ham Roll Meat (something like this name, lol) - recomended by El, quite tasty and it served hot to our table. It something like ham rolled with fish paste( i guess) and deep fried. Very yummy...we all like this...

Im sure you all guessing why there is just snacks?? Actually that time im quite full, so i just order something light to fill my tummy and have more chatting with El...

Anyway, Wong Kok do serve a variety type of foods and beverages . If so happen you at one of the their branch, just drop by there to have a look on their menu and try it yourself....especially for those who loves "Hong Kong" style of dishes...
