Restaurant 88 @ Jalan Kuchai Lama

Last Friday, i had went for dinner with my family. My bro is the one who bring us to this restaurant. Is opposite road at the Talipon Steamboat Restaurant @ Jalan Kuchai Lama. I never know place is surrouand with those housing areas but suddenly got a restaurant in a corner..haha..Quite hidden too...unless, you familiar with the place there...

It is called Restaurant 88. In front of the restaurant, there is a parking place but slightly darker due to not much lights nearby there... My bro say the place will be quite crowded during weekend...So, he ask me go inside to find place while he park the car...haha...so "kan cheung"....Anyway, we are lucky because that time is not so pack with customers. Maybe due to raining weather that time...

So, we begin to make our orders...Frankly speaking, i dont see they have any menu book. But i can see some of the recommended dish is written on the paper and stick onto the wall but all in Mandarin. haha.. I dont know Mandarin...So, all depend to my bro who know it and by asking the boss what he can recommend to us.

Hereby the dishes we have....

Tepanyaki Style Seafood - consist of squids, prawns, fish paste and fish meat being cooked with the thick and dry gravy ...the gravy slightly spicy...quite nice and flavouring...

"Shu Miu" vegetable - vegetable stir fry with fermented beancurd...taste just nice to be eaten with rice...

"Dong Po" Pork - I forget the name actually but the boss say is slighty look like "dong po" pork...but not too fat...The meat is nice but the sauce is just so so.. not flavouring enough...

Teow Chew Style Steamed Fish - This is slightly different from the outside teow chew style steamed fish. This is because they put fried minced "choy po" and minced onion . Then spread on top of the steamed fish together with the soy sauce.. As you all know, the "choy po" is salty so it is good to be eaten together with the rice.

The Rice - surprise enugh, the white rice is put into the container and is on the table . So it is refillable by ourself as you like.

Haha..guess what..the total bill is total RM88 (included a pot of chinese tea-RM4) ...just the same as the restaurant name. What a lucky no....
