Restaurant Dim Sum . Yum Cha

Last Friday was a public holiday. And due to my bf was working, so I dated my family member for breakfast. It is still early and my bro was in a good mood to wake up early since I told him that Im going to treat them for dim sum...

How we get to know this place? Is actually from those advertisement booklet which sent to each of our house. We saw the place looks new and decided to have a try. So, my bro is the "GPS" that day and driving to us to the place. The place is consider a new area whereby there are still many shoplots which is vacant.

The restaurant is slightly situated inside a serviced apartment. We make few u-turn then only able to find a banner which guide us to the restaurant. Fyi, there is a fee (RM3) to park inside the shoplots there...but the restaurant stated, if we are their customer and we show our car park ticket to them, we could redeem for 2 pcs of egg tart for free (make sure redeem it!!)...which quite equivalent to their ticket price...better than nothing, right?

Check the photos below:

The main entrance - nice and elegant

Interior - clean and newly decorated...the place looks spacious and nice

tea making area - the tea are self -service...each tea leaf is put on a big jar where customers pour the tea leaf on the pot and add in the hot water...

Few types of tea leaf available.....Fyi, my tea is FOC here...maybe is restaurant new opening, so the tea is free...

the antique tea cup..very nice ..

Siew Mai (RM4)

Har Gao (RM5.50)

Siew Long Bao (RM6.50)

Beancurd Roll (RM4)

Spare Ribs (RM5.50)

Glutinous Rice Chicken ( RM4)

Prawn Chee Cheung Fun (RM5)

Chicken Feet (RM4)

Steamed Beancurd (RM4)

Scallop Gao (RM5)

Taiwan Gyoza (RM5.50)

Char Siew Bao (RM3.60)

Nice food rite?? Feeling like you wanna go after this?? lol...

Ok....main point here..haha...just wanna share with you of my dining experiences there...super disappointed...I guess maybe is due to their way of taking orders. Suppose normal dim sum restaurant, there would be a trolley where all dim sum is drive along each table so customers can select the dim sum they want. No mess and for sure wont forget any orders...

But for this, their waitress will present the menu and they will take orders. Then the orders will pass to the food serving counter where all the food will served based on the list ...and the bad thing came into our table. The waitress forget to pass the orders or how and then our order is left on the food serving counter and weird thing like no people noticed it.We waited for our orders(1st round -6 plates of dim sum) for about 1/2 hours...after that, suddenly all the dim sum is served. Anyway, we are very hungry that time and dont want to think / ask more... To be honest, the food there is fresh and all the prawn given is big too.

Then suddenly we heard customers shouting for ordering or how...I can see, that time, the place is start to fill with customers and waiting for ordering...Then some waitress is waiting at the food serving counter waiting for the food to finish steamed / cooked etc.....This is the time where everything start to get mess...Maybe the restaurant is still newly open and those staff is not so familiar with working style, and the kitchen unable to cope with too much orders...so they will be some delay etc...

Then after our 1st round, we called for menu to make 2nd order....we ordered 5 plates. and waited .....this time, worst....once again forget our orders....My face totally turn bad....and keep looking at the food serving counter...once again, we waited for 1/2 hours....then only they realized our order and slowly served our table....and the last dish served 15min after other dim sum...

The end, I totally dont have the mood for any more orders and once the last dim sum served, I directly told them, please get the bills now...I dont want to wait anymore...Yeah, I know their restaurant is just open not long but dont have to be that kind of lousy service. One thing also, many customers has a miscommunication on the car park fees too. Anyway, I spent 3 hours at there just to have those few dim sum....

Ok...my last comment....the food there is quite good actually...My bro who is so choosy also think the food there is not bad...But the service is just making you fed up only...Will I be going for 2nd time?? Maybe....but will try to reach there early and avoid peak hours so I can enjoy the foods there without forgetting my orders...But I worry if I bring my bf to there....he dislike waiting too long...haha...

That's all for here...if you ever been there, do share your experience with me....haha...

Chef Loong Restaurant

After a tired shopping, food is always the thing which will flash into my mind... I know lar...im "wai sek"..born to be like this...

Once agian, i searching food at SS2, PJ and i found this chinese restaurant..that time, the place is not so crowded with customers and i think is ok to give a try...My bf? sure no comment one...but sometimes may be choosy in food.

Anyhow, lets check out what i have at Chef Loong Restaurant...

Ginger Tea with Glutinuos Rice Ball - very warm after drinking it..not sweet with 2 pcs of "tong yun" with black sesame filling...

"Leung Shui" - the drink which served together with the set meal below...quite refreshing....

"Siew Loong Pau" and their Ramen....dried curry spread on top of the ramen...

Steamed "Cheung Fun"...this is nice...is a fried popiah and wrapped with a layer of "cheung fun".....dipped with the sweet soy sauce..i love this...it make the dish less oily ....

Honey Char Siew Pau - this is just so so...the skin is too thick and filling meat is not much...

Conclusion, the place is still ok for certain foods....and maybe next time i will go mainly for their dim sum..because I saw quite a number of dish can find in the menu that i havent got the chance to try.

Yan Yan A One Restaurant

Yesterday, my house is out of electricity by the time i reached home after work. The weather is already hot and there is not fan. I took my shower to cool myself and begin to take my HP and call to TNB. And they will be saying they are trying to fix the problems and will be done by 2-3 hours...Haiirss...Do you know, my areas is very frequent did not have the electricity. The worst is , all the time is just the row of my house do not have but the opposite row of houses got electric...Very hate this... Same road, same place but different electric cable...

And due to this, my dad unable to cook rice and do his routine job. So, i have suggested to have dinner outside. Waiting my bro to come back and we went to Old Klang Road for our dinner. This restaurant, i have been spotted few times while on my way travel to Old Klang Road to Midvalley. At 1st, we are quite doubt to go inside because my mum saw a signboard stating " 24 hours dim sum"...haha...wont kuo..dim sum for dinner?? No way...

Then, we check the main board, that they do actually served chinese cuisine, Bak Kut Teh and also dim sum...Anyway, we sure go for chinese cuisine...and we are super hungry..lucky that time not much customers and we get to serve quite fast.

Hereby the meals we ordered:

Sliced Fish with "Kung Po" style (RM24) - erm, this is quite disappointed us. We saw many dried chilies and onion more than the fish meat...haha..The fish meat also got little bit "fishy smell"...not sure what fish meat they used...

Sesame Sauce Pork Rib (RM18) - The taste is quite nice..something like marmite but not...pork rib with sweet sauce and sprinkled with sesame seed. But i check just got about 5-6pcs of pork only...Not enough for 4 of us...haha

Green Vegetable (RM12)- Stir-fry vegetable with added oyster sauce...Anything which added oyster sauce sure look more flavouring...do you all agree it?? The vegetable is fresh too..

Mixed Seafood Pot (RM36) - This is nice. My parents love it and quite flavouring. Inside have sliced fish maw, mushroom, few piece of fresh scallops, dried scallops, brocolli, etc...The sauce is not sticky and good to eat together with rice.

Total bill costs about RM101.60 (included a pot of tea, 4 bowl of rice and a peanut-starter)

Ever wonder hows a vegetarian dim sum will be?? haha...surprisingly, it taste good and not so "meaty" too..haha..It look the same like those normal dim sum we have outside but different ingrediants is being used. This is the 1st time we are having vegetarian morning dim sum. All thanks to Grace for bring us to there. As you, Grace is a vegetarian and i think without her, i dont think i can taste so much of many nice vegetarian foods..haha...

Last Fri was public holidays and i have asked most of my ex-colleague to try vegetarian dim sum. It is not easy to date everyone as some of them are super busy for no reasons..haha...whoever understand it..then is you le..haha...So, that time, there are 8 persons altogether: Me & bf, Grace, Wang, XY & Fred and Alice & Ken. haha...So long, we never been together like this.

Anyway, we reached at the place around 9am sharp but yet the restaurant is like just open. We saw their business hour is 9am for normal day while public holiday is 8am start business but i saw some staffs is just walking in and started to preparing thing.. Erm, quite not a good image as we as the customers need to wait for about 15min for those staff to prepare...haha..

After that we take our seat. The interior is quite oldies with many Buddha statue being placed on the wall with some chinese painting and writing...all table are in marble instead of wooden and making you feel like in the ancient time. Then we started to browse the menu. We have a very daring request that time. haha...guess what? We all together decided to tell the waitress to take out whatever dim sum which on the menu for us. Yes, we have try most of the dim sum in that shop...haha...surprise le?? At 1st we thought we cant finish it but yet, but slowly we done all.

Sorry for being lazy. U know what, at 1st, im very excited to take the photos of each dim sum but when suddenly all the dim sum load to our table, i just take 1 shot of it and start eating lio. haha...All of us is too hungry lio. Anyway, here are the photos taken...sorry for not being to introduce all the dim sum..hehe...if interested, just try it yourself there...hehe..

Our chopsticks & plate...

Fried Popiah...im not sure i got eat this or not...

Vegetarian Shark Fins Dumpling
the taste of the soup not so suit us because the herbal taste quite strong....

Fried Sesame Bun - tasty as it is still hot and fresh...
Gold Fish Steamed Sweet Potato
hehe..sweet potatoes being mashed, wrapped into a bread skin and deep fry...the shape like the gold fish...lol

something like mashed yam inside...i dont know who finish it...as i dont see any trace after i taken this photo..haha..

This is nice..inside is like cubes of apple with salad dressing...quite nice...as inside is soft n sweet but outside is crispy...

Something like popiah..i saw thin sliced of mushrooms and carrots...Do i ate this?? i wonder...too many dim sum on table that time...

their signature dish - Fried Noodle - wow...a simple but nice dish...you should tried it...
