Xiao Fei Yang Restaurant

Once you heard of this name, you would really know it is something like those china-man restaurant. Inside the decor is quite simple with those chinese antics....but one thing is the air-con. Indeed quite old. When you 1st came in, i think it is still fine but after a while after you have taken ur meal 1/2 way, then you will noticed the place is started to get warm.

To be honest, this steamboat restaurant is not easy to find if you really not so sure the wherebout. Lucky all of us know it as our school is just opposite of the main road. haha...For the parking place, i think if you came in early, you may get a nice place in front of the restaurant. If not, maybe you would not mind to pay money for the parking. But as for me, i parked slightly far but i think still easy to reach there. Not a problem...

Few days ago, i have actually booked a table just in case i worry, there are many customers will be dining there. So when we reached, we have the place is quite quiet due to it is still early. One thing, we are coming in a group of 11persons but we noticed that their table is actually suit for 8-9persons which actually quite small for a big group like us. But no choice, thats all we can have.

After a while, the waitress begins to serve some snacks/ appetisers before we start our "boating"....Actually im not really like the appetisers they are serving as it is tasteless. They have served us with fried peanuts and a plate of mixed vegetable taufu...The taufu is really not nice. None of us like it.

The sauce is actually quite nice. We like the one in dark color. I think is something like fried garlic. For the white , we think is "fu yu"(fermented beancurd, am i rite?) and the red 1 for sure is blended chilies.

Let see, for the menu, they actually printing it like a list for us to tick and pass to them to prepare it. One thing, better make sure you can speak slightly mandarin...As i found out most of them is speak mandarin. But the menu, there have mandarin and english translated. haha...

And for our orders is like this:

Each table can have a pot of soup where you can choice to have 1 soup base or to have combination of 2 soup base. For us, we sure looking for combination(RM22). So, the soup they have is either a herbal soup or the "ma lak" soup base. From the pic you can really see, they indeed putting lots of ingrediant into the soup to make the soup so tasty. There are garlic, gingers, dry chilies and lots more unknown to me.

We have order few plates of meat sliced such like chicken, mutton and pork.....just take a piece of it and dip into the boiling soup a while and taste it with the sauce.

For your info, the steamboat is not actually a buffet style neither they do offer any set. Usually all the foods will be served in a plate with the price are ranging from RM4 and above. So, we also order few plate of taufu, fishball, meatball, fish noodle, prawn, fish meat, golden mushroom, vegetable....etc...as what we usually will have during steamboat session.

After the dinner is done, we are served with few plate of fruits(watermelon & oranges) which we are quite full that time. We indeed have a nice meal and the staff there is actually quite friendly and nice (even sometimes they are not so understand what we wants).....

This is our bills (in mandarin)....the bill end up with total RM270.60 for 11person.
