2nd Revisit : Vietnam Kitchen

Wow....is me again in Vietnamese cuisine....

Posting some of the dishes that i 'll be having this time...Hope could provide more varieties to you all...
Actually we saw a banner outside the restaurant which is offering a yummy crabs...Other is the steamed fish and scallap dish...haha..all is so yummy and quite cheap. The photos shown is 2 crabs(RM15.90), a steamed fish with savory seafood gravy(RM19.90, i think if normal price, it would be around RM30-RM40 without promo!) .. and a Boiled Scallap with Flavourful Broth(RM12.90).

But when we sat and look carefully on the same banner but smaller size on the table, then we knew that in order to "qualify" to order for the above dish, we need to spend at least RM50 above in their ala-carte or set menu in order to entitle for the promotion and yummy dishes. So, we got no choice but to order other items since we are having lunch for 2 person only. Even though the end, our bill came out to be RM60++ but yet that time we are super full....so no use we order the crabs and others.

Here is our orders:

Our drink - Six Treasure Drink(RM5.90): inside have longans, slices of transparent jelly, "Hung Chou", "Pak Ko" and some which im not so familiar. Something which is new but if someone who dislike sweet thing, i think you should choose other drink as this is kinda sweet than normal. Hope the sugar can be reduce a bit.

Vietnamese Sour Sweet Soup(RM6.90) - is not like tom yam....coz it have some sweetness due to the pineapple. Inside have sliced of pineapple, prawns, onions and some herbs...This soup is strictly to eat while it is still very hot. Coz when i consume it after a while and is not hot, then soup is not so nice lol...

Combination Starter(RM25.90) - it look like the dish is consist of 2 parts. 1st is the salad in Vietnamese style which have green leaves, mint leaves, sliced cucumbers, sliced sweet sour papayas, raw bean sprout, sliced starfruits, rice noodles etc...on the other part is the meats which consist of spicy chicken meat, meatballs, fried fish paste and fried popiahs...quite large portion....in the middle, there will be 2 types of sauce : sweet & sour sauce with some chilies and the other is the rojak sauce...

The starter has been served with rice paper with a bowl of plain water. When you hold the rice paper, it really hard like paper and based on the waitress who teached me, i need to put a rice paper on my plate, then gently "paint" some water to soften the rice paper. Then based on the starter plate, put some green leaves, sliced cucumber and anything u want then add in a slice of meat....then put some sweet and sour sauce..then end, wrap the rice paper...At this point you would really saw how transparent the rice paper can be when it become soften.

Tips for wrapping : Never put too much of the ingrediants on the rice paper. The rice paper size is very limited and nearly transparent. If put too much, then you will having problems in wrapping the rice paper and it will be "overloaded"...haha...

p/s: i unable to get the photos of my wrapping rice paper 'popiah' due to im having some problem....haha..."overload" problem which cause some mess on the table.

Vietnamese Sesame Chicken(RM12) - Erm, this is quite tasty. the sesame really add aroma to the chicken. The chicken meat is soft without bones blended well with the sweet sauce. The dish is added with sliced starfruits....

Vietnam Kitchen is located at Leisure Mall which in front of the Wong Kok Restaurant and nearby Fitness First & Secret Recipe.
