Bumbu Bali Restaurant

I have heard of this restaurant before and till now i only be able to dine in here...All thanks to all my friends who has celebrate my early birthday in Bumbu Bali which is a place for Balinese foods...Due to that time we went there, the 2nd floor is under renovation, the ground floor is open for customers only. If the place is fully seated, then the customers has to wait for the table. To be honest, the place is quite hot...One of the reasons is due to no air con(the place is using ceiling fan) and secondly is due to the Malaysia weather lately...quite hot nowadays....

Some of my friends has arrived to the place earlier and make their drink order already. They have order Barley Lime(which can also order by a jug = 5 glasses). We have order 3 jugs that time. My friend say this drink really make her feel good and very suit for the hot weather now.

Other cold beverages include Iced Capucinno & Iced Latte

Im not well, so i cant have any iced drink, so i have choose a hot beverage which is the Earl Grey Tea. Nothing much special but it comes with a piece of small biscuit of nuts.

So, what we have order for a table of 9 persons? Here there are:

Sate Lilit - minced fish/prawn paste wrapped around lemongrass which acts as skewer. I think it is grilled with mix herbs and it is nice to eat.

Tipat Cantuk - Balinese warm vegetable salad with taufu, rice cake(nasi ketupat), prawns and herbs which served with Tamarind Peanut Dressing. The peanut dressing(sauce) is really and sweet. Just like the satay sauce. It is not sipcy at all.

Mixed Green Salad - A mixture of fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, boiled egg, shallots, fried taufu with a spicy lemongrass & Shallet Dressing. Once agian, the sauce which make the different and it is quite refressing to have this meal.

Cumi-cumi Goreng - it is a combo of fried white squid and potatos. The fried squid is very crispy.

Bumbu Bali Trio - a trio of of lemon grass satay stick, fried sotong (squid) and BBQ wings. The 3 accompanying sauces were sambal, lemon grass and mayonnaise.

Nasi Campur Bumbu Bali - Balinese speciality rice served with grilled lemongrass prawns, squid, fish, and beef/ chicken rendang, vegetable(kangkung) with sambal terasi and sambal matah, rempeyek etc. I think this rice set is wonderful as it combine most of the grilled meats /seafoods you really wish to try alltogether in Bumbu Bali. All in one and it is tasty. Erm...no wonder so fast finish by my friends and when reach in front of me, they just left kangkung for me. haha...

Grilled Pasta - You can choose either to have prawns, squid and fish or you may choose from other meats such as grilled chicken, beef, or even vegetable. I think it is nothing different except for the meat which lay on top...it is a nice pasta too with lots of herbs...

Since we are quite full, we have decided to share a dessert which is the Es Campur. Quite "paiseh" when all of us(except me) share the glass of dessert. Es Campur is something like ice blended with coconut milk and mixed with lots of sago , some coconut candies and slices of banana. The comment that my friend given is the drink is too much "santan" which make us scare to have it much as our tummy is really full..lol...

Anyhow, just try it yourself ....
