Sentul Ah Yap Charcoal Hokkien Mee Restaurant

hehe....fyi, i really love to eat Hokkien Mee..Eventhough they say it is quite fattening but i just love it. Once a while now, my dad will cook for my family to eat and the taste quite ok too...Hey, my dad used to open a restaurant before. So, he cooks well too...But now just too old for all this..hehe...

Why i say Hokkien Mee is fattening?? This is non-halal oh...sorry for Muslims...This is because some of the Hokkien Mee is cooked with fried pork lard....very delicious..haha...But due to healthy reasons, some of them no longer put the pork lard...

Anyway, back to my post, that day, me and my bf just feeling like to have some noodles. We spotted this shop and we just go in to find any available table. We did not want to sit outside as we felt it might rain that time. Anyway, inside is much cooler as there have air-con even it is slightly noisy.

The signboard is very obvious stating they are having Charcoal Hokkien Mee (Small -RM6). For sure, we would order a plate of it. It say it cooked by charcoal but actually cant really differentiate it. Isit food which cook with charcoal will taste better?? Erm, for this, the taste is quite nice. For the noodle, they are using the slightly thin than the usual noodle which use for hokkien mee. I saw few pieces of crispy pork lard in the noodle. To compare with my dad's hokkien noodle, i think my dad slightly salty and darker..but i like to eat too...because he may put a lot of fried pork lard into the noodle...haha..yummy...

Then we ordered for Cantonese Fried Noodle (Small-RM8) - the noodle there are using is the "wan tan" noodle...hehe...they will fried a while to make the noodle crispy then add in with a thick egg gravy.... Im sure some of us would have tasted such noodle before but it is with mee hun and kiew tiew mee...

For extra item, we have order a bowl of soup(RM8) - is the seaweed soup. The soup is very nice. Inside have many "floating" seaweed, sliced of fish paste, pork, prawns etc...One not so good is the soup is quite oily.

Fyi, they have 2 separate kitchens...the external kitchen is for meeting those Hokkien Mee orders while for other orders, mostly is prepared indoor kitchen. You can see the external chef is very busy cooking non stop. Besides noodle, you can order dishes like prawn, squids, chicken, pork or vegetable to eat with rice.

I saw quite a lot of customers visiting this place. So, if you really wish to dine in there, make sure you are prepare to wait for a while before the food is serve to your table.I hope to go there to try some of the other dishes...Hope it wont disappointed me too...

As stated in the name card, their main branch is located at Sentul while their branches is located in few places in Kota Damansara, Sunwaymas Commercial Centre and im having it at Damansara Utama.
