Purple Cane Restaurant @ Shaw Parade

Is CNY celebration…..as usual I would be having a gathering with a group of my friends. This time, we have chosen Purple Cane at Shaw Parade. To be honest, last time, our secondary school is nearby there. Haha…But since after our school, we really seldom go there.

Since we have 9 peoples in a group, so we decide to order a table set menu. This year, Purple Cane Restaurant has offered few types of table set menu which so called“The Prosperous Purple Glow New Year Tea Cuisine Special”. All of us agreed and decided to choose the “AROMA” set (can be shown in their leaflet and you can check it out in their website).

The set is consists of “ Yee Sang” , 7 main dishes and desserts and a special selected tea (RM398 nett). Overall we are satisfy with the food but somehow, we unable to finish it all. Since is a Tea Cuisine, mostly all the dishes have added some sort of teas, either tea sauce, tea leaf etc…haha…We are really full after the 1st few dishes. The end, some of the foods, we have “ta pou” back home. The environment is nice and more new than the one at Jalan Maharajalela branch….lol…

A good place to have nice tea and to have some nice, healthy foods…..Especially suitable for a family or friend gathering dinner.

The full set of my new year tea cuisine…hehe…I unable to get the photo of “yee sang” coz they already started want to toss the “yee sang” by the time i took out my hp to take pictures…haha…too hungry lio…

Aromatic Crispy Duck – Nicely presented with pieces of fried eggs slice, spring onion and green vegetable. Wonder how I eat it? Take the green vegetable leaf and put on a plate. Put a piece of egg slice and a slice of duck meat. If prefer spring onion, you may add on…put some sauce which has been given and lastly wrap everything together and taste it.

Homemade Tea Soup – Each of us got a pot. At first, we thought is tea but then after the waitress informed us is a soup, then we felt surprise. Is some kind like herbal soup. Not so oily and is acceptable for those who does not like Chinese herbs soup…hehe…

Stir Fried Slice Fish with Dragon Fruits in Rose Tea – No worry, it is not red color. Those rose tea has been blended like powder and sprinkle in the middle of the dish. Nice to try too. I think you guys can cook it at home and with other fruits too…

Braised Chicken with Sweet Chili in Lychee Tea Sauce – To be honest, I don’t see to taste any lychee inside the dish. For me, its is like something sweet and sour chicken with tomato sauce…hehe…the dish is served with some soft buns.. I really love the buns..It is nice to eat while it is hot. Yummy!!

Sauteed Prawns and Sweet Corn with Long Jing Green Tea – I think is prawn cooked with thick and creamy sweet corn soup..hehe..this is my 1st time try this…

Braised Beancurd Sheets with Monk Vegetables in Shui Xian Tea Sauce – I did not taste much of this dish as I don’t really like mushroom. Im already feel full…But after many heavy dishes, it is good to have some light vegetables….

Homemade Steamed Pearl Rice Ball with Oolong Tea – This is nice. Soft and aromatic. I shared with a friend just to have a taste of it. Some of my friends has to “ta pou” since it is kinda waste if left out too many on the table.

Green Tea Lotus Dessert – a pear like dessert stuffed with lotus paste. Not so sweet. Is a cold dishes. It actually is like eating moon cake but in different shape.

Lychee Black Tea with Red Bean Taste- It is the sweet red bean soup. It is actually too sweet for us already. Most of us did not manage to finish it. We all ended up drinking many teas to cover the sweetness…

I think most of the dishes you can order through the ala-carte menu and hope you enjoy the food there.
